Scenario
- A hospital requires all its staff to have COVID-19 vaccinations. Hospital workers claim that this requirement is a unilaterally imposed condition that changes their conditions of service, and ought to have been discussed with them first. Many of them do not want to be forced to have the vaccine, because unlike other vaccines, COVID-19 vaccinations are still ‘experimental’ and may have long-term unpleasant side-effects. They insist that vaccination for COVID of hospital staff should be voluntary. Their demands are not met and the workers decide to demonstrate until they are met. The workers gather outside the hospital and place burning tyres and rocks in the road to block access to the hospital.
